Your own image
Upload a second photo and the subject is placed on top of it; the photo is scaled to cover the frame and centred behind the subject. A studio wall, an office, a shelf, a gradient you made in another app: if you can save it as JPG, PNG or WebP, it works as a background.
Two practical notes. Match the direction of the light between subject and background, or the result reads as a collage. And pick a background whose shape suits the crop: a wide background behind a tall portrait gets cropped at the sides.
What the AI actually does here
An AI background changer can mean two different things, and it is worth being plain about which one this is. Some people search for a photo background editor and want layers and retouching; a photo background changer like this one is narrower than that.
