What to do after the background is gone
Removing the background is only the first half of most jobs. The same panel gives you four outputs from one cutout, so you rarely need a second tool:
- Transparent — a PNG with nothing behind the subject, ready for slides, mockups, stickers and store listings.
- Color — a solid background in any color. White is one click, and it is the usual request of marketplaces and of school or staff badges.
- Blur — your original background, blurred behind the subject, so the setting still reads but stops competing for attention.

Free results are not shrunk, watered down or stamped: the file you download is the full-size cutout. Processing usually takes a short while per image, and the first image after a quiet spell can take a minute or more while the model starts up.
Free and paid options
Three images a day need no account at all, and signing in with Google raises that to ten. The allowance refills 24 hours after you use the first one, covers every background type rather than only the transparent one, and keeps the background remover free for everyday jobs.
Need more in one day? Plans add 400, 1,200 or 3,000 images a month from $9.99, and one-time token packs of 100, 400 or 1,200 images stay valid for a year. Either one also lifts uploads to 50 MB, runs five images at once, and keeps results in history for 180 days instead of 7.

How to remove background from image
To cut out background from an image, upload it and download the result once the AI has cleared everything around the subject. How do I remove the background from a PNG?
The same way as any other file: upload the PNG and download the cutout. If the PNG already has transparent areas, they stay transparent. A PNG that has a flat white background behind the subject works too, and you will get back a cutout with that white gone.
How to remove white background from image
Upload the image and pick the Transparent output. The white area disappears and the subject keeps its own light tones, which matters for white shirts, packaging and paper. This is the usual first step when you cut out an image of a logo or a signature for reuse.
Can I use the results commercially?
Yes. Cutouts you make here are yours to use, including in shops, ads and client work, on the free allowance as well as on a paid plan. Some tools restrict this: remove.bg's free tier and Photoroom's free accounts are both for personal use only.
Do you keep my images?
Results stay in your history so you can download them again: 7 days on the free allowance, 180 days on a plan or token pack. You can delete any image from history yourself, and deletion removes both the original and the cutout.
